I’m Macauley Heseltine the Managing Director of Hegemonic Enterprises, a self-made entrepreneur with a passion for achieving results. After studying at college, I wanted to find a rewarding career path. Over the years I’d worked in warehouses, bars and restaurants. I enjoyed the customer facing element but wanted something that offered me progression, and the ability to earn more than the average wage for my age.
I stumbled across an advert for a sales and marketing firm in Leeds and embarked on what I know now to be a life changing move. I was working directly with multiple clients to help market their products using a different approach to most companies. The personalised approach means that no two days were the same. During my time with the firm, I quickly realised I could enhance my communication skills and learnt how to shorten sales cycles effectively.
Personal development has always been important to me, as a person who gets bored quickly I like to push boundaries and develop new skills. From learning how to manage my time effectively and understanding the importance of accountability if I was to achieve my ambitious goals.
Surrounding myself with a team of like-minded individuals was rewarding, coaching them to improve their sales achievements and boosting their ability to deliver on customer experience was a challenge that highlighted my leadership weaknesses and allowed me to approach my mentor to improve my methods and increase my skills as a leader.
As time went on, I realised I wanted to run my own sales and marketing firm, and I have spent the last 12 months observing and networking with sales and marketing business owners. I am now ready to embark on the journey to build my empire.
